Yokohama-Katakura doin is where you learn Shorinji Kempo which opened in 2001 in Kanagawa-ku, Yokohama.

Shorinji Kempo can be practiced comfortably and enjoyably by anybody, including preschool children and seniors regardless of gender depending on your physical strength and goals.

Shorinji Kempo is a Japanese martial art found in 1947 after WWⅡ.

Shorinji Kempo is "practice for human development in order to make leaders who have courage and kindness.

There has been a strong belief that the "quality" of the people who are the member of our society is important in order to reconstruct the devastated land of Japan after the war and create the world where everybody can live happily.

Therefore, Shorinji Kempo not only trains the spirit and body through the practice of techniques, but also performs tasks such as cleaning the dojo after practice, chanting together at the beginning of practice to align our minds with what we aim for, and participating in the events of the regional community with neighboring groups.
